Before heading into the mountains, it's very important to check both the current weather conditions and the forecast for the area you're visiting. Use this information to help plan routes and be prepared to modify your plans if necessary. When winter mountaineering, check the latest avalanche forecast and try to gain a picture of the history of the snow. Remember that you must also be responsible for making your own assessment of the snow when you get there, and should rely on your own instincts and judgement.

Update: The Kingshouse Glencoe webcam has returned and is working correctly, but the OVMRO's Ogwen cam still doesn't work.
