Mid Wales

Dol Einion campsite, Tal-y-Llyn

This part of the site is still under construction, so the links below don't link to anywhere yet. I'm working on it!

Parts of Mid Wales are truly beautiful, such as the Tal-y-Llyn valley below the South Face of Cadair Idris. My brother and I camped there for two nights just over a year ago as we contemplated our ascent of the mountain next morning--our first "serious" mountain walk.

Other parts are still scenic, but have less to offer for walkers. In particular, the Machynlleth area looks great on the map, but many paths have fallen into disuse and navigation is frustrating (and often impossible). Nevertheless, the Ceirig Valley near Brynmelyn sports its own miniature mountain range, a gorgeous wooded brook, and a large upland forest. I will cover these two distinct areas separately.
