For several years, I've been going on trips to the hills: the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District, and more recently, Wales. Unfortunately I live in one of the flattest areas of the whole country. I moved to Suffolk three years ago which is just about as far away from the mountains as you can get.
I'm now studying towards a Computing degree at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. My position has actually improved: I can now get a train in twenty minutes and be in Ambleside in a little over six hours. This is a long, tiring journey, and subsequently I don't make the pilgrimage to the mountains as often as I would like.
But 2004 - 2005 has been a bumper period for me in terms of hillwalking. In August 2004 I went on a backpacking trip to Machynlleth and Cadair Idris, and although I didn't reach any summits, it whetted my appetite for more. I have since added six expeditions, thirty five mountain ascents, over 300 miles of walking, and the dents in my water bottle to prove it!
What this site is all about
I'm constructing this site simply to share photos, stories, opinions and a little advice to anyone interested in fellwalking. More will be added as and when I get the material. I have many more trips planned for 2006, to the Lakes, Snowdonia and Scotland, so more material will be added when I get the chance. I am also in the process of constructing route descriptions and scrambling guides.
In the meantime, the other pages in the site can be accessed through the sidebar to the left. Happy fellwalking!
